Re-imagine the under-utilized land surrounding Tropicana Fields: the current home of the Tampa Bay Rays

Design Concept:

The design of the stadium, park canopy, and buildings throughout the development were inspired by the forms and colors of the aquatic life in the neighboring Tampa Bay. Like the wings of a stingray moving through the water, the edges of the stadium and the park canopy are never straight. The dynamic nature of the forms and the colorful triangulated surfaces mimic the reflection of light off the various creatures in constant motion in the nearby waters.
