Concept:

The design of the new Commander’s Stadium takes inspiration from its location; nestled in a bend of the Anacostia river.The building’s form consists of two wings that extend from the stadium and hug the edge of the river like two arms open in embrace. At the center of these two arms is a large glass opening giving panoramic views from the horseshoe seating bowl onto the river and the iconic Washington D.C. monuments beyond.  Whether walking along the enhanced river’s edge, enjoying the stadium’s mixture of food, entertainment, or shopping venues, or watching a Commander’s game, there is no mistaking that this is D.C’s stadium.
